Dr. Richard Morrison holds the Staatz endowed Professorship in Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. He is the director of the Neuroproteomics Center and an Associate Director in the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University where he has maintained a long standing, productive research program aimed at characterizing the response of brain cells to injury and disease. He developed a love for soccer photography after his children convinced him to purchase a camera to keep busy on the sidelines while they played soccer since he was too vocal.Thus began his journey into professional soccer photography. Dr. Morrison began photographing the USL-1 Seattle Sounders in 2008 and he has also covered both the Men’s and Woman’s soccer teams for the University of Washington. He was the only photographer to attend every home game for the Seattle Sounders in 2009.
